Terms & Conditions
By using Medipher you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — especially the sections on medical advice, AI limitations and liability.
Last updated: 14 July 2026
1. What Medipher is
Medipher is a health-literacy tool that turns medical text into plain English. It is provided for information and understanding only. It is not a medical device, a clinical decision-support tool, or a replacement for a healthcare professional.
2. No medical advice, diagnosis or treatment
Medipher does not:
- diagnose conditions;
- recommend or prescribe treatments;
- tell you whether something is safe, serious or urgent;
- replace the judgement of a qualified clinician.
Always consult a doctor, nurse, pharmacist or specialist about your care. If this is a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately — in the UK that is 999, or NHS 111 for urgent non-emergency advice. See our Medical Disclaimer.
3. AI limitations and accuracy
Explanations are generated by AI. AI can make mistakes: it may misread part of a document, omit information, or occasionally produce content that sounds plausible but is wrong ("hallucinations"). Always check important information against the original document and with a clinician. See our AI Transparency page for more.
4. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the information you paste into Medipher.
- Only paste text you have the right to use.
- Do not use Medipher to make clinical decisions for another person without their consent.
- Do not rely on Medipher for time-critical or emergency decisions.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Medipher for anything unlawful;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service;
- submit malicious content or attempt prompt-injection attacks;
- use Medipher to build a competing product or a training dataset;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
6. Intellectual property
The Medipher name, brand, design, code and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may use Medipher for personal, non-commercial purposes. You keep the rights to the text you paste; you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of generating your explanation, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Medipher and its team are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including any decision made or not made on the basis of an AI-generated explanation. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Availability and changes
Medipher is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. We may update these terms; the "last updated" date will change and continued use means you accept the update.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence.
