What Medipher is
Medipher is a health-literacy tool. It reads the text you paste and puts it into plain English so you can understand what a letter, result or prescription is saying. It is designed to help you feel less lost and to give you better questions to ask a clinician.
What Medipher is not
- It is not a doctor.
- It cannot diagnose a condition.
- It cannot prescribe or recommend treatment.
- It cannot replace the care of a healthcare professional.
- It cannot tell you whether something is safe, urgent or serious.
Always speak to a qualified clinician
If you have questions about your health, please speak to a GP, doctor, nurse, pharmacist or specialist. They know your history and can examine you. Medipher does not.
In an emergency
If you or someone else may be seriously ill or injured, do not use Medipher. If this is a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately — in the UK that is 999, or NHS 111 for urgent non-emergency advice.
Why we say all this
Because your safety matters more than convenience. Medipher's purpose is to make medical language less intimidating — not to make medical decisions for you. Please use it in that spirit.
